212 Indians returned home under 'Operation Ajay'

‘Operation Ajay’, an exceptional effort by the Modi government to save Indians stuck in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, has been initiated. According to this 212 Indians made their first flight home. Around 18,000 Indians are trapped in Israel, according to an estimate. The majority of them are IT experts and students.

Data is being prepared by the Indian Embassy for the evacuation of Indians who are stranded in Israel. Passengers are chosen as part of Operation Ajay on a “first come, first served” basis. The costs of returning Indian passengers home are being covered by the Modi government.

Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar was at the Indira Gandhi International Airport to greet the returnees when the first flight from Israel arrived in New Delhi.
