Big order of Supreme Court in Sandeshkhali case, SC notice to Lok Sabha Secretariat, stop on action of Privilege Committee

Sandeshkhali Case: The Parliamentary Ethics Committee’s appeal about the Sandeshkhali case has been challenged by the West Bengal government in the Supreme Court. The Privileges Committee’s action was halted by the Supreme Court. Additionally, he sent a notice to the Secretariat of the Lok Sabha.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal reportedly brought up in the Supreme Court the West Bengal government’s appeal against the Parliamentary Ethics Committee’s notice about the Sandeshkhali incident in that state. This was reported by news agency ANI. Speaking on behalf of the petitioner, senior attorney Kapil Sibal stated that political activity cannot be included in privilege.

During the hearing of the Bengal government’s plea, the Supreme Court halted the Lok Sabha Privileges Committee’s action against some officials, including the West Bengal Chief Secretary and the DGP. After four weeks, there will be another hearing on this matter.

Let us inform you that prominent officials, including the Chief Secretary of West Bengal, have received notices from the Parliament’s Ethics Committee. Based on Lok Sabha MP Sukant Majumdar’s complaint, a notice of breach of privilege was issued. Majumdar has lodged a complaint alleging that the matter was not allowed to go to Sandeshkhali.

The Shri Kalki Dham Nirman Trust, led by Acharya Pramod Krishnam, is constructing this temple. To take part in this event, almost 11,000 saints and sages from all around the nation have traveled to Sambhal. Several dignitaries and religious leaders attend the temple’s foundation stone-laying ceremony. In five acres, the Shri Kalki Dham temple complex will be completed. The construction process will take five years to finish.

Arvind Kejriwal will not appear before ED for the 6th time, AAP said – waiting for the court’s decision

ED Summons Arvind Kejriwal: Arvind Kejriwal, the CM of Delhi, has decided not to appear before the ED on Monday, February 19, 2024. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stated that the ED’s summonses are unlawful in this regard. The court is currently debating the legality of the ED summons. Rather than repeatedly delivering summonses, ED needs to await the court’s ruling. For the sixth time, Kejriwal has not responded to an ED summons.

On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal disregarded the sixth ED summons for a question on the excise policy matter. Chief Minister Kejriwal received a summons, but the Aam Aadmi Party declared it “illegal” and that the case was now in court. Rather than issuing a summons, ED needs to await the court’s ruling.

CB-CID named former CM Chandrababu Naidu in the charge sheet filed in the Fibernet Phase-1 project scam

Andhra Pradesh: Chandrababu Naidu, the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, appears to be having further problems. In the charge sheet submitted to the ACB court in Amravati regarding the alleged scam involving the AP Fibernet Phase-1 Project, CB-CID named former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. Chandrababu Naidu, the previous chief minister, was also complicit in this disruption, according to CB-CID.

On Friday, February 16, the AP Crime Investigation Department (APCID) submitted the charge sheet before the Vijayawada ACB Special Court.

According to the chargesheet, Chandrababu Naidu, the national head of the Telugu Desam Party and a former chief minister, broke the law in 2015 when he gave a favorite company a work order worth Rs 330 crore for the AP Fibernet project’s first phase. There was manipulation of the tender process.

The investigative agency informed the court that Hari Krishna Prasad, the managing director of Net India Hyderabad, was a member of the Technical Appraisal Committee, the Governing Council, the e-Governance Authority, the Electronics and IT Agency, and the Innovation Society at the time.

Fire broke out in Basti of Govandi area of Mumbai, 10-15 houses were burnt, fire brigade reached the spot

Maharashtra: Early on February 17, a fire broke out in an Adarsh Nagar slum in Mumbai‘s Govandi neighborhood. As soon as word of the fire spread, more than nine fire brigades arrived on the scene.

The fire destroyed ten to fifteen houses. As of yet, no injuries have been recorded. On the scene are Mumbai Police and fire authorities.

SpiceJet to cut at least 1,000 jobs to ensure profitable growth

Layoff 2024: The news indicates that SpiceJet Airlines is about to lay off 1000-1400 workers, or around 15% of its whole staff. Due to financial difficulties, SpiceJet plans to fire many of its staff.

According to the ET article, the airlines have justified the workforce reductions by pointing to operational needs to control the company’s overhead expenses.
