Ranbir Kapoor will appear in a grey shade in this Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed film ‘Animal’, which also has Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in significant parts. Ranbir talked candidly about the movie and his character in a recent interview.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Ranbir Kapoor disclosed that he will play a merciless gangster in Animal, with Anil Kapoor portraying the role of the man who raised him.

When asked how he approached the first grey job of his career? Ranbir retorted that hearing the writing had astounded him. He acknowledges that this role is the most surprising one he has ever played. He admits that he is afraid to return to the movie. “As an actor, it’s a fantastic opportunity for me. Nobody anticipates my taking on such a role. I’m going to make a movie, and I hope the audience is ready,” he says.

Ranbir Kapoor had to go through a lot of physical change as well for the movie. He had taken a vacation in April to put on more weight for the movie. When asked about how he changed physically for the part, Ranbir said that he had to accurately portray the grey shades in Animal and that the physicality also contributed to the visuals. I’ve gained a tonne of muscle.

Along with Ranbir and Anil, Animal also features Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol in its ensemble cast. Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, will be released on 2023.
