Amit Shah Promises Law to Protect Tribal Land in Jharkhand if BJP Wins Power

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during a rally in Tamar, Jharkhand, pledged that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in the state, it will enact a law to prevent land transfers to “infiltrators,” even if they marry tribal women.

Speaking to the crowd, Shah emphasized, “The infiltrators are dangerous for our daughters, our resources, and our land. When we form the government, we will bring a law to prevent immigrants from registering tribal land in their name, even if they marry tribal women. We will ensure that any land acquired by these immigrants is returned.”

Shah also criticized Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accusing him of “vote bank politics” and claiming that Bangladeshi immigrants were entering the state under his leadership. He promised strict action against these immigrants if the BJP is voted into power, assuring voters, “We (BJP) do what we say. I promise you today that we will remove all infiltrators from Jharkhand.”

In addition to the law proposal, Shah stated that the BJP aims to drive economic prosperity in Jharkhand. He condemned the recent removal of Champai Soren from his post by Hemant Soren, calling it an “insult to the entire tribal community.” Shah said Champai Soren’s call for an end to corruption was ignored by the ruling party.

The upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections are set for November 13 and 20, with vote counting on November 23.

Hemant Soren got bail from High Court, ED arrested him on 31 January in the land scam case

Hemant Soren, a former chief minister of Jharkhand, was granted bail at last. Hemant Soren, who is being held in connection with the land scam case, was granted bail by Jharkhand High Court Judge Rangan Mukhopadhyay on Friday, June 28. Hemant Soren, the head of JMM, has been granted bail with two 50,000 rupee sureties.

After a long interrogation, he was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the evening of January 31, 2024.

The attorney for the former chief minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren, leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), was persistently requesting bail in the court regarding the alleged scam involving 8.5 acres of land in Bargain.

Hemant Soren, who was detained in connection with the money laundering case, repeatedly had his bail requests denied by the PMLA court, the High Court, and the Supreme Court. He finally received a significant reprieve today from the Jharkhand High Court.

The Supreme Court has ruled against former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in the money laundering case involving the purported land scam. Today, the Supreme Court heard a petition contesting Hemant Soren’s arrest. On Monday, May 13, 2024, the court ruled that due to the seriousness of the allegations, Soren could not be granted bail only because of the Lok Sabha elections.

“Since the allegations are serious, the ED will not give orders on your (Hemant Soren) petition against the arrest without hearing it,” Justice Sanjeev Khanna stated during the hearing. We are unable to assist you with this if there is an election.

In response to former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren’s plea against his detention in a money laundering case involving the land scam, the SC is requesting an answer from the ED by May 17.

Hemant Soren, the former chief minister of Jharkhand, filed a case in the Supreme Court on Monday challenging the ruling of the High Court. Kapil Sibal, his attorney, has filed this plea.

On May 3, the Jharkhand High Court rejected Soren’s writ petition contesting his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and refused bail. In his plea, Soren has alleged that his detention was unreasonable and his remand in the case was arbitrary and illegitimate.

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren ‘missing’, ED search continues, Section 144 imposed
