Rahul Gandhi, a former congress president, and former MP, arrived in Imphal, the state’s capital, on Thursday. On June 29–30, Rahul Gandhi will visit Manipur. He will visit relief camps during this time. In Churachandpur and Imphal, he will speak with civil society leaders.

In Manipur, ethnic conflict between the Meitei and Kuki communities erupted in early May, resulting in the deaths of more than 100 individuals. Since the ethnic strife in Manipur began in May of this year, about 50,000 people have been housed in more than 300 relief camps.
