In the country, emphasis has been placed on giving Corona vaccine to people with the new Omicron variant. Meanwhile, Mumbai has received good news about the Vaccination Program. The vaccination rate against Covid-19 in Mumbai is more than 80% among those over 18 years old. As of now, Mumbai has also improved its handling of Corona vaccination. Corona vaccinations have been completed in Mumbai within Maharashtra’s maximum target.
We hope to deliver the Corona vaccine to 92.3 lakh eligible populations by the end of January, says BMC Commissioner IS Chahal. Based on Cowin data, at least 97.79 lakh people have been vaccinated since January. 98.47 lakh people have received both doses of Corona in Delhi. Chennai has been able to administer the vaccine to 63% of its population. 80% of the citizens in Bangalore are receiving both doses of Corona, as the first city to receive both doses in the country.
There were eight new Omicron cases reported in Maharashtra on Tuesday. 7 cases have been registered in Mumbai, while one case has been reported in Vasai Virar on the outskirts of the city. Maharashtra now has 28 cases of the Omicron variant and India has 57. According to the information, of the 28 cases in Maharashtra, 12 are from Mumbai, 10 are from Pimpri Chinchwad, two are from Pune, and one each is from Kalyan Dombivli, Nagpur, Latur, and Vasai Virar. In the last 24 hours, 9 patients have been cured and discharged from the hospital after contracting Omicron.
The Omicron virus has been detected in five states and two union territories (Delhi and Chandigarh) besides Maharashtra. As well as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Delhi, infections have been reported. Cases have also been registered in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Chandigarh.
