The Kiwi player, who announced his retirement, stated, “I realize that I am not becoming young again and training is getting harder for me every day. Grandhomme’s success was also seen in the elite IPL tournament in India. The Kiwi all-rounder participated in 25 IPL games in all. His bat was responsible for 303 runs in 21 innings, averaging 18.9. Grandhomme not only batted but also bowled, recording six victories at an average of 53.2 in 19 innings.
