Dr. Pragya Tripathi, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, was elected to Bahraich MLC. Samajwadi Party candidate Amar was defeated by 3188 votes. There was 98.91 percent of eligible voters in attendance. There were two candidates.

On the 9th of April (Saturday), voting was held for the election of MLCs from a total of 27 local authority constituencies. There are 95 candidates who will be decided in this election. Unopposed elections have been held for 9 MLCs from 8 constituencies. A total of 739 polling booths were set up.
UP MLC election 2022 concluded with the election of 9 members from 8 local authority constituencies. In the constituencies where unopposed elections have been held, one member each has been elected from Badaun, Hardoi, Kheri, Mirzapur-Sonbhadra, Banda-Hamirpur, Aligarh, Bulandshahr. Mathura-Eta-Mainpuri has elected two members unopposed. There will be voting in 58 districts across the state.
The Central Armed Police Force is providing security at polling stations in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections. In addition to this, central security forces have been deployed for the strong room, which will store ballot boxes after voting. A total of 293 zonal magistrates, 451 sector magistrates, and 597 static magistrates have been deployed to ensure the smooth running of the election.
