'Fake advertising' complaint lodged by Sachin Tendulkar

Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar filed a police report with the Mumbai Crime Branch regarding the use of his name, picture, and voice in “fake advertisements” on the internet that were intended to deceive.

The Mumbai Police Cyber Cell has filed a case under IPC sections 426, 465, and 500 against unnamed individuals.

On Thursday, one of Tendulkar’s assistants reported this to the West Region Cyber Police Station. The complainant claimed to have seen web adverts for a pharmaceutical company that claimed the legendary batter supported their line of goods. Additionally, he discovered the website sachinhealth.in, which featured Tendulkar’s image to advertise these goods.
