TMC wins panchayat elections in West Bengal, BJP comes second

West Bengal’s panchayat elections saw a lopsided victory for the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Out of 3317 seats, TMC has won 2552 of them overall in this election. Additionally, TMC won 232 Panchayat Samiti seats and 12 of the 20 seats in the Zilla Parishad.

BJP constitutes a four-member fact-finding committee to visit violence-affected areas in West Bengal

West Bengal Panchayat elections: BJP reached the High Court due to non-deployment of central forces

The BJP filed a complaint with the High Court on the incidence of violence that occurred during nomination for the West Bengal panchayat elections.

The state administration was ordered by the Calcutta High Court to use central forces in the panchayat elections in its decision from Tuesday.
