According to Congress MP Karti Chidambaram, “Two young people, aged around twenty, suddenly leaped from the audience gallery into the House, carrying canisters.” These canisters were emitting yellow smoke. This constitutes a grave security lapse, particularly on December 13, the day of the 2001 attack on Parliament.”

Special session of Parliament will be held in the new Parliament House, Congress will be included in the special session

The government of Modi has scheduled a special session of Parliament for September 18–22. The new Parliament House, for which all preparations have been made, will host this session. The session will start in the old building on September 18 but move to the new Parliament House on September 19 in honor of Ganesh Chaturthi, according to sources cited by news agency ANI.

The construction of the new Parliament House, according to the officials, was finished long ago; however, some equipment and other things needed to be placed inside. In such a situation, the new building will be used for a special session of Parliament.

In actuality, the Central Vista Project, under which the new Parliament House was constructed, was managed by the Modi administration. Its first stone was laid in December 2020, and this year it was completed in a record amount of time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the new Parliament House on May 28, 2023.

Congress has stated that it will participate in the special session, despite the fact that it opposes every move made by the Modi government. Jairam Ramesh, a leader of the Congress and a member of Parliament, stated that we have decided not to boycott the special session of Parliament.
