YouTube Music is officially launching podcasts in the US

Podcasts are now officially available on YouTube Music’s US platform for Android, iOS, and the web. The launch comes after YouTube’s head of podcasting Kai Chuk made it known that podcasts would soon be added to YouTube Music.

With the change, users can continue to listen to podcasts they are currently watching in the main app on YouTube Music.

In addition, YouTube Music lets users seamlessly switch between audio/video versions of podcasts on-demand, offline, in the background, and while casting.

The fact that all users, regardless of whether they have a YouTube Premium subscription, may access podcasts on YouTube Music. Additionally, YouTube has acknowledged that when paying users are listening to podcasts on its platform, they might hear host-read endorsements or sponsorship messages.

Spotify users can now share music, and podcasts on BeReal

The French photo-sharing app BeReal and the music streaming service Spotify have announced their integration, which will let users share music and podcasts in their BeReal posts.

“This integration within the BeReal platform is something we’re proud of. Spotify said in a blog post: “We’re always looking for innovative ways to make Spotify accessible to more people and to let fans, artists, and communities connect through audio globally.

As this experience rolls out, customers of BeReal and Spotify in a few areas (including Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, and the US) can access it on their Android and iOS devices.

National Public Radio layoffs 100 employees and cancels 4 podcasts

Mass layoffs are carried out by the nonprofit media organisation National Public Radio (NPR), based in Washington, which results in the cancellation of numerous podcasts.

NPR acknowledged on Thursday that it had layoff 10% of its workforce or about 100 employees and that it often rolls back its workforce from 1,200 to around 1,050.

According to NPR, the majority of the impacted employees will continue in their positions through April 28.
