Another cyclonic circulation is also present over the Southeast Arabian Sea during the same period. It is pouring in the southern states as a result of this.

Several activists and seven AIADMK MLAs have reportedly been detained by the Tamil Nadu Police for demonstrating outside the Coimbatore home of former state minister SP Velumani in opposition to a raid by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.

An accident involving a helicopter near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, has caused the death of General Bipin Rawat,Chief of Defense Staff (CDS). CDS General Bipin Rawat passed away, the Indian Air Force confirmed in a tweet.
In the helicopter was Madhulika Rawat, the wife of CDS Rawat. India’s Air Force announced via a tweet, ‘It is now known with regret that General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat, along with 11 others aboard, have died in this unfortunate accident.’ The leaders, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, have all expressed their grief over the incident.
It was reported that fog resulted in low visibility which caused the accident. An ANI report indicates that 13 personnel have been confirmed dead out of 14 involved in a military helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu. There will be a DNA test done on all the dead bodies so that they can be identified. According to reports, the helicopter crashed in Wellington while CDS General Bipin Rawat was en route to the Defense Services College (DSC). The Air Force said in a statement that the accident has been ordered investigated.

General Bipin Rawat’s death was expressed by Narendra Modi as a cause for grief. PM Modi tweeted, “I am deeply anguished by the helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu in which we have lost Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and other personnel of the Armed Forces. They served India with utmost diligence. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. Gen Bipin Rawat was an outstanding soldier. There has been heavy rain in Tamil Nadu for the last several days. Kerala is now in the grip of an emergency situation. There has been an Orange Alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Kerala. Six districts have been warned of heavy rains today. As well as this alert, five other districts have issued a similar one as well for Sunday.
In the last four days, heavy rains have fallen over parts of coastal Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. The effect of this cyclonic storm was caused by a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, which intensified into a cyclonic storm.
Several places in Kerala have been warned of heavy to very heavy rain by the Meteorological Department. According to the IMD, Kerala will experience rain and thunder for the next three days (November 16).
If the rain continues in Kerala’s Idukki district, collector Sheeba George said Cheruthani Dam shutters may be opened on Saturday and Sunday.
The Kerala coast is likely to receive rain on Saturday, and a heavy rain warning has been issued for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Ernakulam on November 14.
