You can walk on India’s first glass skywalk right in the northeastern state of Sikkim without needing a visa and a train ticket. Situated in Pelling, Sikkim, the fabled statue of Chenrezig can be found right next to it.

The glass skywalk offers a stunning view of the Buddhist pilgrimage site nestled among the Himalayas. There are 7,200 feet of elevation between the entire complex and the sea.
This scenic religious site also serves as a popular tourist destination thanks to the glass skywalk. Folklore has it that Chenrezig, or Avalokiteshvara, is the earthly manifestation of Lord Buddha, Amitabha. A statue was constructed in the Choeling area in Pelling at a cost of Rs 46.65 crore.

Glass Bridge in India Sikkim
The pilgrim site houses the tallest Chenrezig statue in the world along with a glass skywalk, a gallery, and a cafe. In the skywalk, tourists and pilgrims can admire Chenrezig, its golden prayer wheels, and the stairs that lead up to it.
Visitors can view thousands of feet below from the glass skywalk, which is not for the faint-hearted. Specifically, the project was funded and constructed with the help of the Department of Culture and the Department of Housing Buildings and Housing.
