CM Yogi’s big gift to the farmers of UP, electricity bill reduced by 50%, see the new rate list

Uttar Pradesh Elections 2022: A big gift has been given to farmers in Uttar Pradesh by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Electric bills for rural and urban residents using metering, unmetered, energy-efficient pumps and tube wells will be halved as of today, as compared to today.

A new system of rebate in electricity bills is expected to place a financial burden of about 1000 crores on Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited each year. After getting the grant from the government, the electricity rates will change. In the new rates, instead of paying ₹ 2 / unit on metered connections in rural areas, only ₹1 / unit will be required. It will cost *35/horsepower instead of *70 for this connection. As for an unmetered connection, the fixed charge will be ₹85 per horsepower, not ₹170 per horsepower.

For Energy Efficient Pump at the rate of ₹1.65/unit (fix charge of ₹70/horsepower), farmers now only have to pay ₹0.83/unit (fix charge of ₹35/horsepower). Farmers in urban areas will now have to pay only *3/unit (fixed charge *65/horsepower) instead of paying *6/unit (fixed charge *130/horsepower) for private tube wells with metered connections. The decision of the Chief Minister directly benefits about 13 lakh consumers of tube wells.

This method can only be used to transfer a maximum of Rs 2000 at a time, according to RBI guidelines. After the limit has been reached, it can be increased online.
