For the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Goa, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has put state unit head Sadanand Mhalu Shet Tanawde on the ballot.

According to a statement from the party, Tanavade’s name has been approved by the BJP’s Central Election Committee for the Rajya Sabha elections.

The dates for the ten Rajya Sabha seats’ biennial elections were published by the Election Commission last month. According to this, voting will take place on July 24. In August, BJP representative Vinay D. Tendulkar’s term will come to an end. Elections are held every two years as a result.

Conventionally, the votes will be counted on July 24 itself at 5 pm, an hour after the polls close.
