There is a fresh monsoon update released every day. In 8 states, including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand, there may be severe rains today and tomorrow, according to the Meteorological Department (IMD).
On the other side, the northeastern states have experienced flooding-like conditions due to rain. In Assam, the Brahmaputra River is swollen. Floods in ten of the state’s districts have caused a severe scenario, according to the Assam State Disaster. In 108 villages, 120,000 people have been impacted. The Nalbari district flood has affected up to 45,000 people.
Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are working to rescue people in the Baksa district’s flood-affected Tamulpur neighborhood.
For the next 4 days, i.e. from 22 to 26 June, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya.
