India’s self-reliance will increase

Indian defense self-reliance will take a significant stride forward with the commissioning of INS Vikrant. As part of the government of India’s ‘Make in India’ strategy, India will join a small group of nations with the induction of Vikrant into service, including the US, UK, Russia, China, and France, that have the capacity to domestically design and build an aircraft carrier. A true demonstration of the initiative will occur.

The warship was constructed using equipment and machinery that was indigenous to India that was provided by top industrial companies as well as more than 100 Small, Cottage, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
