Microsoft describes the new feature in a blog post. It improves upon Bing’s existing web index and ranking engine by using GPT-4, which takes the search query and transforms it into a more detailed description of what should be included in the results.

When your search query is more unclear, Deep Search will identify all potential meanings and provide a thorough description for each one. After that, Deep Search shows you these intentions so you may choose the appropriate one.

Microsoft announces new round of layoffs and cuts 275 jobs

Microsoft announced a new round of job layoffs on Monday morning, affecting a variety of customer care, support, and sales positions. Microsoft is reportedly slashing close to 275 positions, per a GeekWire story.

The 10,000 global layoffs that Microsoft initially announced on January 18 are not included in these reductions.

Microsoft testing File Explorer UI and dynamic lighting feature for Windows 11

For Windows 11, the tech giant Microsoft has begun developing a new File Explorer user interface, Dynamic Lighting, and many more features. In the Dev Channel, new features are currently being rolled out to Windows Insiders.

WinUI is what powers the “modernised” File Explorer Home, the tech giant claimed in a blog post on Wednesday.

“Recommended files for users signed into Windows with an Azure Active Directory (AAD) account will be displayed as a carousel and support file thumbnails, which is coming soon,” the statement continued.

Users of Windows and developers are given native control over Lighting Devices by the Dynamic Lighting feature.

Open source software platform GitHub announces Kyle Daigle as chief operating officer

The open-source software platform GitHub, owned by Microsoft, named Kyle Daigle its first COO since 2021 on Thursday.

At the moment, Daigle works closely with CEO Thomas Dohmke as Vice President of Strategy and Chief of Staff to the CEO.

The open-source development platform already has 100 million users worldwide and is rapidly expanding in India, where it has over 10 million users who are developers.

Additionally, GitHub is introducing Copilot for documents. A third round of layoffs at Microsoft affected workers in positions connected to the supply chain, artificial intelligence (AI), and the internet of things (IoT).

Microsoft Introduces a New Viva Engage App Similar to Facebook, Know How It Makes Work Culture Easier

Microsoft has unveiled a brand-new Facebook-like Viva Engage app within Teams. Viva Engage has a Facebook-like vibe. It promotes workplace camaraderie, self-expression, and online chit-chat. This has a storyline part where you may contribute conversational articles, movies, images, and other things.

During that time, Google Talk competed directly with Skype and MSN. Voice and video calls were introduced through GoogleTalk. For a few days, this service was popular, but then in 2017 people were recommended to use Google Hangouts instead.

In 2020, Google Hangouts was renamed Google Chat and Google Chat for Workspaces was introduced to replace the original Hangouts.

According to the support page for Google Talk, the company is discontinuing the service, and third-party apps will no longer be supported. Users who attempt to access this Google Talk Hangouts service after June 16 will see an error message.
