India’s captain Virat Kohli shared an emotional message via social media to thank the fans that he is very disappointed with his T20 World Cup performance.

Despite defeating Namibia on Monday in Dubai as part of their Super 12 campaign, India failed to advance to the semi-finals as New Zealand defeated Afghanistan on Sunday.
The 33-year-old posted pictures from the tournament to social media, writing, “Together as one we set out to achieve our goal. Unfortunately we fell short and no one is more disappointed than us as a side. The support from all of you has been fantastic and we are grateful for it all. We will aim to come back stronger and put our best foot forward. Jai Hind🇮🇳🙏”
Virat Kohli played his last T20I match as captain of India against Namibia. ODIs and Tests will continue to be led by him. Group 2 saw India finish third behind Pakistan and New Zealand. Four teams have qualified for the semi-finals: Pakistan, New Zealand, England, and Australia.
Nine wickets were needed to defeat Namibia on Monday. KL Rahul’s unbeaten 54 off 36 balls helped India reach 136 for one in 15.2 overs chasing a target of 133 runs. A half-century was also scored by India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma, who scored 56 off 37 balls.
David Wiese, Namibia’s top scorer, scored 26 off 25 deliveries as the team posted 132-8 in 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets each for India.
