Infection rates in India are less than 10%, 1,61,386 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours

The number of Corona cases in India is continuously decreasing. The number of new COVID-19 cases across the country dropped by 3.4 percent over the past 24 hours. During the last 24 hours, there were 1,61,386 cases of Covid reported in India, and 1733 deaths were attributed to Corona infection, including 1063 cases of backlog deaths in Kerala. 57,42,659 corona vaccine doses have been given in the last 24 hours, so far about 1,67,29,42,707 doses have been given.

Currently, there are 16,21,603 active Corona cases in the country, and the rate of active cases is 3.90%, and the recovery rate is 94.91%. The number of patients recovering from Corona was 2,81,109 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,95,11,307. The daily positivity rate is 9.26%. In the last 24 hours, 17,42,793 tests were conducted out of the 73.24 crore cases registered so far.

We can tell you that on Tuesday, 1,67,059 new cases of Corona were reported in the country, which is a decline of about 20 percent. The last 24 hours have recorded 1,192 deaths from Corona. The death toll in Kerala was also raised by a backlog of 638 deaths.

After Tamil Nadu, now it rains in Kerala, IMD issued an alert

There has been heavy rain in Tamil Nadu for the last several days. Kerala is now in the grip of an emergency situation. There has been an Orange Alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Kerala. Six districts have been warned of heavy rains today. As well as this alert, five other districts have issued a similar one as well for Sunday.

In the last four days, heavy rains have fallen over parts of coastal Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. The effect of this cyclonic storm was caused by a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, which intensified into a cyclonic storm.

Several places in Kerala have been warned of heavy to very heavy rain by the Meteorological Department. According to the IMD, Kerala will experience rain and thunder for the next three days (November 16).

If the rain continues in Kerala’s Idukki district, collector Sheeba George said Cheruthani Dam shutters may be opened on Saturday and Sunday.

Alert issued in landslide-prone area amid fear of heavy rains in Kerala

Kerala News: Kerala, already soaked by rain, is forecast to receive more rain from Wednesday onward. IMD predicts extremely heavy to very heavy rains in the Eastern Ghat belt and hills of the state.

Last week, landslides and flooding severely affected the district of Kottayam. 33 areas in the district have been identified as landslide-prone.

People living in low-lying areas and river basins are being relocated to relief camps since dams are being opened and heavy rains are forecast.

Jafar Malik, the Ernakulam District Collector, said, “The water will reach Aluva in Ernakulam by midnight when it is released from Idukki reservoir.” Water levels are unlikely to rise significantly if there is no rain. The situation could change at any moment due to heavy rains.”

India’s weekly Covid-19 cases have dropped 15% in the last six months

This is the lowest Covid-19 cases count in more than six months in India, a 15% drop in the week preceding Sunday.

More than 2.14 lakh new cases occurred during this week (September 13-19), down from 2.51 lakh the previous week. Since March 8-14 (for the week ending Sunday), there have been the fewest cases reported in 27 weeks.

A significant decline in Covid numbers was recorded for the second week in a row. In the previous week, cases in the country dropped by 13%, while the past seven days saw a drop of just 0.6%.

Kerala recorded 62% of all infections across the country last week, down sharply from the previous week. Kerala reported 1.33 lakh new cases, down 20.6% from the previous week’s tally of over 1.67 lakh. The weekly case count in Kerala had exceeded 2 lakh two weeks ago as the tide of pandemics in Kerala crested.
