Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the loss of troops and that 3,000 soldiers have been killed, and at least 10,000 injured, in the war with Russia. According to him, “it’s hard to say how many will survive.”
Moreover, the bodies of more than 900 civilians, most of them shot, have been found near the Ukrainian capital following Russia’s withdrawal. The police said on Friday that there were indications of several people being simply executed.
The shocking figures come days after Russia’s Defense Ministry said it would intensify missile attacks on Kiev in response to the alleged attacks on Russian territory.
Despite the threats, Moscow continued to prepare for an offensive in eastern Ukraine.
Seven people, including a 7-month-old baby, were killed and 34 were injured in shelling in a Kharkiv neighborhood, according to regional governor Oleh Sinehubov.
The conflict between Ukraine and Russia has now become extremely dangerous. As a result, most countries hope that the conflict between the two countries will end soon. Australia said the ‘quad’ countries have accepted India’s stand on Russia’s attacks in Ukraine. Aside from that, no country will be upset with Prime Minister Narendra Modi using his contacts to advocate an end to the conflict in this war-torn country.
In an interview with reporters, Australia‘s High Commissioner to India Barry O’Farrell revealed that the Quad countries agreed with India’s position. There are bilateral relationships between all countries, and it is evident from the comments of the Ministry of External Affairs and Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself that these contacts have been used to advocate for an end to Ukraine war. I’m sure no country would be unhappy with this.
You should know that India avoids criticizing Russia. India’s quad partners – America, Japan, and Australia – strongly condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Thus, it was also expected that India would take a different position on this matter. As a result of the old friendship between India and Russia, India has avoided retaliating directly against the attack of the Russian army.
India was not accused of supporting events in Ukraine, as reported by news reports. Apparently, India is trying to follow the policy laid out by Nehru 65 years ago. India’s Prime Minister Modi and Australia’s Scott Morrison will attend a virtual summit today. During this summit between the two countries, the Ukraine crisis is also expected to be discussed.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was urged on Friday by France’s President Emmanuel Macron to allow humanitarian aid into Mariupol and to order an immediate ceasefire. Macron spoke with Putin for about 70 minutes.
Olaf Scholz and Putin spoke earlier today. Scholz asked Putin to immediately declare a ceasefire. France President Emmanuel Macron has yet again expressed concern over the attacks on civilians in Ukraine and Russia‘s violation of human rights, according to the Elysee Palace, the country’s presidential office. President Putin’s office responded by saying the war was caused by Ukraine.
Meeting the representatives of Ukraine: Russia’s progress
There is a close agreement between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations on neutrality, according to the Russian delegation. Chairman of the Russian delegation that discussed Ukraine’s NATO membership attempt, Vladimir Medinsky, said the two sides were working toward resolving their differences. Medinsky was quoted as saying: “The neutral status of Ukraine and its distance from NATO are key issues in our discussions, and both sides are moving closer together.”
The demilitarization of Ukraine is now “nearly halfway” complete, he said. Medinsky pointed out that Kiev wants to bring under its control Ukraine’s Russia-backed eastern separatist region, while Russia believes the people in the region need to decide their fate for themselves.
Russia’s army is marching full power into Ukraine on the battlefield. A contingent of the Russian army is continually besieging Kiev, for which they are attacking everything in their way. Tanks can be seen rumbling through the cities of Ukraine. A missile attack shows the city ruins.
The eyes of the whole world are actually on the Russia-Ukraine war. Because for the first time in Europe since the Second World War, such massive bloodshed has been witnessed on the ground. Vehicles that plowed through the streets of Ukraine a week ago have become piles of rubble.
Meanwhile, millions of people have left Ukraine and millions more are seeking refuge in other countries. In such a case, the question becomes: if there is no result on the table of talks, then what will happen on the battlefield? The entire world agrees there should be no war because no dispute can be settled by war.
Russian nuclear bombings at the forefront
Russia is currently threatening nuclear war; what is the cause of this? A nuclear war has horrifying consequences, as the world has seen. Having the most nuclear bombs in the world makes Russia the most powerful country in the world.
According to statistics, Russia has 6255 nuclear bombs, while America has 5550. Thus, 90 percent of the world’s atomic bombs are in these two countries. Russian nuclear weapons are also greater than those of the United States. Regardless, no country in the world can contemplate a nuclear attack in the current environment.
There are more atom bombs in Pakistan than in India
When talking about nuclear power countries, China comes after Russia and the USA. There are 350 nuclear bombs in China. After that, France has 290 and Britain has 225 nuclear weapons. There are more nuclear bombs in Pakistan than in India. There are 165 atomic bombs in Pakistan, and 156 in India. Israeli has 90 atom bombs and North Korea has 40 to 50 atom bombs.

Our citizens have all departed Kiev, according to Harsh Vardhan Shringla. As far as we know, there are no longer any citizens in Kiev. We have not heard from anyone there. Approximately 20,000 Indian students lived in Ukraine at the time of our first advisory. Over 12,000 Indians have since left the country. The remaining 40% of students live in war zones, and half have reached or are nearing Ukraine’s western border.
Russia-Ukraine War: The Russian army continues its war against Ukraine. It is flinging missiles at Ukraine. Sirens are heard across the country. Russia sent tanks and troops to cover Ukraine’s borders from all directions after Vladimir Putin declared war on Thursday. According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, 83 Ukrainian military facilities, including 11 air bases, were destroyed in the invasion. The Ukrainian military stated that 30,000 to 60,000 Russian soldiers were engaged in the fighting.
There were air raid sirens heard in Kiev on Thursday. People of Ukraine shared visuals of the effects of the Russia-Ukraine War on Twitter. Videos show buildings on fire and Russian military jets and tanks moving through Ukrainian provinces. As shown in the video, Chuguev airport as well as Kherson airport have been attacked.
Additionally, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that its forces had moved from Crimea to Ukraine. Russia has previously only claimed it carried out air and missile strikes against Ukrainian bases and other military facilities. In his first statement since the beginning of the war, Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov confirmed the arrival of Russian ground troops to Ukraine, claiming they were heading towards the city of Kherson in the northwest of Crimea.
137 Ukrainians were killed on the first day of the war
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Thursday that 137 Ukrainians were killed during the Russian attacks. 137 of our military personnel and civilians we lost today, Zelensky said in a video message. 316 people were injured as well. Ukraine also said it lost control of Chernobyl after fierce fighting with Russian troops. There was a nuclear disaster at Chernobyl in 1986, which is currently under the authority of Russia. In the meantime, the White House press secretary noted that workers at Chernobyl were being ‘hosted’ by Russian troops following the seizure.
A Russian jet also conducted an airstrike on the Ukrainian city of Lutsk, which is in the west of the country. This city is less than 100 kilometers from the Polish border, which is noteworthy. Volodymyr Zelensky has declared martial law as explosions and air raid sirens are being heard across Ukraine. The Russian military launched a massive offensive, striking cities and targets with airstrikes or firepower.
The Supreme Court heard arguments regarding the Russia-Ukraine tension on Thursday. An application has been filed in the court to direct the central government to expedite the evacuation of Indian students and civilians trapped in war-torn Ukraine. A PIL filed by Supreme Court lawyer Vishal Tiwari seeks an early hearing in the case.
Meanwhile, the petition demanded the supply of emergency supplies, including medical and food supplies, to those stranded in Ukraine amid the deadly offensive by Russian forces. According to the petitioner, bringing back Indian citizens is the responsibility of the government.
The petition claims, “Students across our country are stuck in Ukraine, and their families are begging the government for assistance.” The government is liable for the security and well-being of its citizens not only at home but also abroad, especially when the people are helpless and there is no means of transportation. The government will have to take several diplomatic measures.”
In the wake of the Russian attack in Ukraine, hundreds of Indian students have requested their safe return. There were several videos on social media showing students in tears urging the Indian authorities to arrange for their evacuation.
In a letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, several state governments have urged the Center to accelerate the evacuation of Indian citizens. The Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of External Affairs have been contacted by chief ministers from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Maharashtra to request the safe return of their citizens.
The Ministry of External Affairs issues an advisory to Indian citizens in Ukraine
Indian students and citizens living in Ukraine have received an advisory from the Indian Embassy in Kiev. During the Russian offensive in Ukraine, the country has declared martial law, making travel difficult. The Indian Embassy claims that it is in touch with local establishments to accommodate the stranded students in Kiev.
The Russian president has ordered a ‘special’ operation in the Donbass region in Ukraine. There were subsequent reports of explosions from several Ukrainian cities, including Kiev and Kharkiv. On-the-ground sources told Republic Media Network that, within 3 minutes, there were two explosions heard from an apartment in Khreshtyak, Kiev.
The Kremlin leader said Moscow does not plan to invade the former Soviet Union nation, moments after Russian forces entered the country from Crimea. “Ukrainian soldiers should give up their weapons and return home,” said Russian President Putin.
Russia’s Vladimir Putin says fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces is ‘inevitable’, urging Ukrainian troops to return home. Ukrainians who left the conflict would be able to return safely to their families.
The Ukrainian government has ordered airports in eastern Ukraine to stay closed from midnight to 7 a.m. (local time) due to a conflict with Russia. PTI reports that Ukrainian aviation authorities have designated some airspace in the east a “hazardous zone” in response to Russian attempts to regain control of it.
The UN on the Russia-Ukraine crisis
During his opening remarks to a UN Security Council meeting on Thursday, Antonio Guterres urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to “stop” troops and “give peace a chance.” In response to warnings of Russian aggression in Ukraine, Guterres said, “In recent days, there have been many situations with similar signs, similar rumors, but I never believed them. I always believed that nothing was serious. I made a mistake.”
India’s response to the crisis
India’s “independent position” on the Ukraine crisis was welcomed by the Russian Foreign Ministry and it reflected the special and deep relationship between the two countries. According to Russian Deputy Chief of Mission Roman Babushkin, India is an important global power that focuses on world affairs with a ‘free and balanced’ approach.
In an exercise on the Ukrainian border, Russia is exercising its nuclear strategic forces under the supervision of President Putin. Russia’s nuclear power appears to be a scare tactic. Putin had previously been authorized by the Russian parliament to deploy forces outside of Russia. The Russian president accorded full independence to two Ukrainian regions the day before.
Ukraine and its sovereign territory no longer include these regions, according to Putin. The Russian government ignored American and Western warnings by doing this, thereby inviting war between Ukraine and Russia. US officials say the armed forces stationed around Ukraine are “ready for attack”.
There is an increasing concern among Russians about a possible war with the West. However, it has been stated by the national security team of US President Joe Biden that “Russian attacks can happen at any time.” His senior advisors have also discussed this issue with Joe Biden.
According to Reuters, missiles will be launched from ships, submarines, and fighter planes during the latest Russian military exercise. They will also hit sea and land targets from the land.
Russia’s military activities in Eastern Europe are of concern to powerful G7 countries, who see no signs of Russian troops being withdrawn.
Also, it has been announced that U.S. and Canadian economic sanctions will be implemented against Russia amid the Ukraine crisis. As part of the economic sanctions announced by President Biden during his speech, his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin was accused of invading and provocating Ukraine. The vice president told reporters at the White House following the announcement of economic sanctions against Russia, “we understand fully the challenge we face.”.
“The open provocations of Russia pose a threat to world peace and security,” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said during a press conference on the Russia-Ukraine crisis. “Canadian sanctions will remain in place until Ukraine’s territorial integrity is restored,” Trudeau said.
Russia Ukraine Crisis Updates: There is still a threat of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Earlier, Russia claimed that its troops were returning from the Ukrainian border after completing maneuvers, however, US officials told Reuters on Wednesday that the US is convinced that Russia has the intention of withdrawing its troops from Ukraine. The claim is “false.”
As reported by the news agency Reuters, a US administration official said, “So yesterday the Russian government announced that its forces were withdrawing from Ukraine’s border. The claim has been widely discussed in the US and around the world. Now we know it was a mistake.” However, the official did not specify what proof he had to discredit Russia’s claim.
Despite Russia increasing its troops along the Ukrainian border by 7,000 troops, the Biden administration has acknowledged this, according to an anonymous US official. Most of these arrived on Wednesday.”
The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces had finished exercises in Ukraine and were returning home. A video showing Russian troops returning from Crimea was also released. But US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced in an interview with MSNBC that “strategic squads” were moving to the border.
As reported by the news agency AFP, in a statement issued by Russia’s Ministry of Defense, it was stated that the South Military Base has finished its military exercises and has now returned to its permanent base. Russian forces were also shown returning a bridge to Russian territory. A spokesman for the Defense Ministry told Russian news agencies earlier this week that the southern and northern military units had completed their missions. They have started loading rail and road transport and are returning to their military bases.
US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that 150,000 Russian troops surround Ukraine. Earlier, it was reported that there are 1 lakh, Russian soldiers, along Ukraine’s border.
