FIR lodged against BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya for tweeting about Rahul Gandhi

Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP‘s IT unit, had an FIR filed against him on Wednesday at the High Grounds police station in Bengaluru for his tweets criticising Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress.

The police filed an FIR against Malviya under sections 153A, 120B, 505(2), and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in response to a complaint made by Congress leader Ramesh Babu.

West Bengal Panchayat elections: BJP reached the High Court due to non-deployment of central forces

The BJP filed a complaint with the High Court on the incidence of violence that occurred during nomination for the West Bengal panchayat elections.

The state administration was ordered by the Calcutta High Court to use central forces in the panchayat elections in its decision from Tuesday. In his budget, CM Ashok Gehlot announced 100 units of free electricity for domestic consumers only. Its scope has now been broadened. A total of one crore 10 lakh domestic consumers will benefit from it.
