Section 144 imposed after stone pelting in Shivamogga, Karnataka, 40 people arrested so far

Some malicious elements had hurled stones at the Eid Ul Milad procession, according to Shivamogga SP GK Mithun Kumar. Following this, people became enraged and destroyed homes and automobiles. Based on the footage, some persons have been detained.

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah stated that some malicious elements threw stones at the Eid Ul Milad parade in response to racial tension in Shivamogga. The police were also attacked with stones. 40 persons have been detained thus far. Such activities will not be tolerated by our government. The matter is currently under control.

Along with recovering 25 kg of gold from Lokesh Shriwas, the police also found money and other jewelry.

This entire stolen property was stolen in Delhi. Lokesh from Kohka has been detained by Durg police. Police in Rajnandgaon and Bilaspur both have Lokesh on their wanted list. Prior to this, Lokesh Shrivas had been successfully apprehended by Durg Police along with 100% of the stolen goods from Parakh Jewelers in Akashganga. Lokesh Shriwas is currently being questioned by Durg police over a different crime.

Agricultural scientist MS Swaminathan, father of Green Revolution in India, dies at the age of 98

MS Swaminathan (Mankombu Sambasivan Swaminathan), a well-known agricultural scientist who is regarded as the father of the Green Revolution in India, died at the age of 98. He passed away there in Tamil Nadu. He was born in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, in 1925.

Agronomist, agricultural scientist, administrator, and humanitarian, Swaminathan holds these titles. He was instrumental in the creation of high-yield paddy varieties, which enabled low-income Indian farmers to increase their output. In 1979, he also held the positions of Principal Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture and Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, which eventually changed its name to the International Rice Research Institute.

Swaminathan began his career in 1949 by studying the genetics of the potato, wheat, rice, and jute. Swaminathan created the seeds for a high-yielding wheat variety, working with Norman Borlaug and other researchers. In the 1960s and 1970s, he collaborated with agricultural ministers C Subramaniam and Jagjivan Ram to significantly boost the productivity of rice and wheat, which was successful in bringing about the “Green Revolution.”

The first World Food Prize was given to Swaminathan in 1987 for his work in creating and innovating high-yielding wheat and rice varieties in India. In addition, he received the Albert Einstein World Science Award in 1986 and the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1971. Additionally, he received the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri awards. The United Nations Environment Programme recognizes Swaminathan as the father of economic ecology.

Manipur CM N Biren Singh announces resumption of internet services from today

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced on Friday that internet services will be resumed in the state from today, September 23. Internet services were suspended on May 10 following clashes between the Kuki and Meitei communities in the state.

In a statement, Singh said that the decision to resume internet services was taken after reviewing the overall situation in the state. He appealed to the people to use the internet responsibly and to avoid spreading rumors and hate speeches.

The suspension of internet services in Manipur has caused a lot of inconvenience to the people. Many businesses and educational institutions had suffered due to the suspension. The people also faced difficulties in accessing information and staying connected with their loved ones.

SC notice to Udhayanidhi Stalin on controversial statement on Sanatan Dharma

According to news agency ANI, Udhayanidhi Stalin, a minister in the Tamil Nadu government, received a notice from the Supreme Court on Friday for making a divisive comment on Sanatan Dharma.

This notification was released by the Supreme Court in response to a petition challenging Udhayanidhi and A Raja’s criticism of Sanatan Dharma. According to the court, it will hear this case and other ongoing petitions against hate speech.

In a petition, a lawyer from Chennai requests that Tamil Nadu’s anti-Sanatan Dharma campaigns be ruled unlawful.

Udhayanidhi Stalin had equated dengue fever and malaria to Sanatan Dharma. He had stated that some things couldn’t be contested and needed to be done away with. In the same way that we must also work to eradicate dengue and malaria, we cannot simply resist these diseases. Similar to this, Sanatan Dharma needs to be eliminated in addition to being fought.
