Earthquake tremors in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, earthquake of 3.9 magnitude occurred

A 3.9-magnitude earthquake hit the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reports that the earthquake happened at 9:34 p.m.

“There have been no reports of fatalities or property damage,” the spokesperson stated. “It occurred at latitude 33.05 degrees north and longitude 76.18 degrees east,” said the NCS.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) announced on X, “Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.9, Occurred on 16-11-2023, 09:34:19 IST, Lat: 33.05 and Long: 76.18, Depth: Doda, Jammu and Kashmir.”

6.0 magnitude earthquake in Indonesia, said – no potential danger of tsunami

Tuesday’s earthquake in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara island had a value of 6.0 on the Richter scale. According to the geophysics agency, a tsunami is not expected to occur as a result of the earthquake.

The epicenter of the earthquake was situated in the eastern Indonesia region, not far from Timor Leste, at a depth of 75 kilometers. The tremor was lightly felt on land in some sections of East Nusa Tenggara due to the epicenter’s remote location, but there were no initial reports of damage, according to the agency.

In Tezpur, Assam, there have been earthquake tremors. The shocks had a Richter scale magnitude of 3.7. On the other hand, Ladakh residents also reported feeling earthquake shocks.

The National Centre for Seismology states that the earthquake struck Assam at 10:55 am. Its center was 10 km below the surface and 39 kilometers from Tezpur.

Ladakh saw earthquake tremors at 10:23 am. Its center was 10 km deep within the Ladakhi territory. It registered 3.9 on the Richter scale for intensity.

Earthquake killed six people in Nepal, dozens of houses collapsed, tremors felt near Delhi

Six were killed in the earthquake

Six individuals were killed in the earthquake, according to Phanindra Pokharel, spokesman for the Home Ministry. Five badly injured people have been admitted to the Doti district hospital, Pokharel said PTI over the phone. According to reports, the earthquake caused eight homes and a police station to collapse.

The National Earthquake Monitoring Center for Nepal reports that around 2.12 pm local time, an earthquake of a magnitude of 6.6 struck Nepal. Its hub was in the Doti neighborhood.

A number of homes were damaged during the earthquake, according to Bhola Bhatta, acting chief of the police department in Nepal’s Doti district, and some individuals were buried under the debris. Police and the army of Nepal are carrying out rescue and relief efforts.

Delhi-NCR experiences powerful earthquake tremors

There were tremors reported in Lucknow, Ghaziabad, and Delhi, as well as other cities.
