2 people died in stone pelting in Banbhulpura- Haldwani, identification of accused continues, internet service also closed

Haldwani Violence: On Thursday, stone-throwing in Banbhulpura, Haldwani, resulted in two fatalities and over 250 injuries. All of the injured are reportedly receiving medical attention at the hospital.

In this regard, Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami convened a high-level meeting. Along with other senior police and intelligence officials, the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police evaluated the situation. CM Dhami has urged everyone to uphold the status quo.

Vandana Singh, DM Nainital, states: “The police station has been demolished by the mob. It’s a regrettable occurrence. Strict measures will be implemented if the offender is recognized. This (incident) was not communal. I request everyone.” Avoid making it sensitive or communal. No specific group took offense…It was an effort to subvert the state apparatus, the state government, and the status quo of law and order.

The miscreants engaged in Banbhulpura are being identified and prosecuted, according to the police. The entire city has been turned into a cantonment with security in mind. Moreover, internet services have been discontinued. There is also a curfew in place for the whole region.

On Thursday, a team from the Municipal Corporation arrived with a JCB machine to demolish the illegal madrassa and namaz place. He was accompanied on this occasion by police officers as well. However, the locals started making a commotion before the action to destroy the illegal construction could start.

Violence flares up again in Manipur; 9 people killed and 10 injured during firing in Khamenlok

In Manipur, violence has broken out once more. During the shooting in the state’s Khamenlok region, nine persons died. These fatalities happened during the late-night shooting incident in the Khamenlok region, according to army sources.

Police Superintendent (SP) Shivkant Singh told news agency ANI 10 people were hurt in the recent violence in Imphal East. Postmortems are being performed on the dead so their causes of death can be determined correctly.

SC seeks to Delhi Police on bail plea of Umar Khalid, accused of conspiracy in Delhi riots, seeks reply in 6 weeks

Regarding Umar Khalid’s request for bail after being charged with conspiracy in the Delhi riots, the Supreme Court has sent a notice to the Delhi Police. The Delhi Police have six weeks to respond to the apex court’s request.

The Delhi High Court had already rejected Khalid’s request for bail, describing the accusations against him as severe.

Umar Khalid, a graduate of JNU, and several other people have been charged with “masterminding” the riots in February 2020 under the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

During demonstrations against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC), there was violence in Delhi. The riots resulted in 53 fatalities and more than 700 injuries.

Supreme Court to hear Manipur violence today, Govt ready to hold talks with groups

After a week of intense violence, things are slowly getting back to normal in Manipur. On Monday, 11 districts in Manipur had their full curfew partially lifted.

Attorney Amritpal Singh Khalsa has filed a letter petition regarding the Jahangirpuri violence case. On the other hand, another petition was filed in the Supreme Court regarding the violence in seven states, including Delhi, on Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti, calling for an investigation by the NIA.

Jahangirpuri Riot Updates:

The investigation of the riots has definitely been handed over to the crime branch, however, the local police continue raiding the area to catch the rioters.

As well as the two big-name figures Ansar and Aslam, 21 arrests and two minors have been made so far in the rioting.

An investigation revealed that a criminal Gulli of the area had prompted Aslam to fire, and efforts are being made to catch him.

Attack on procession in Gujarat –

Attack on procession in West Bengal –

As part of the Ram Navami procession in South Howrah, West Bengal, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad was marching towards Howrah Ramakrishnapur Ghat on this auspicious occasion. Meanwhile, some people attacked this procession near the PM Basti area under Shivpur police station in Howrah. Information about the incident has led to the deployment of large numbers of police.

Arson in Jharkhand –

A fair in Hirahi-Hendlaso-Kujra village in Lohardaga, Jharkhand, which was taking place on Ram Navami, has seen violence and arson. A certain community pelted stones at participants in the Ram Navami procession, and after they reached the fair, about ten motorcycles and a pickup truck were set on fire. Stones were thrown at the procession by those taking part. Three incidents have been reported resulting in four injuries. Several police forces are deployed at the scene.

Stone pelting in Madhya Pradesh –

Ram Navami was celebrated in Sendhwa in the Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh when two sides faced heavy stone-pelting. The incident occurred on Jhogwara Road in Sendhwa City. Baldev Mujalde, the head of the Sendhwa city police station, was injured during this stone-pelting. A motorcycle was set ablaze by miscreants. In addition, 2 to 3 religious sites were vandalized. A police force, including SP Barwani, Collector is deployed in the city after this incident.

Bangladesh Police identify man who placed Quran at Durga Puja pandal in Comilla

A local man has incited violence against Durga puja pandals in Comilla and other places. Iqbal Hossain, from the city’s Sujanagar area, is the suspect’s name, Comilla’s Superintendent of Police Farooq Ahmed told the Dhaka Tribune.

According to Ahmed, a 35-year-old man had placed the Quran in a Durga Puja pandal in Comilla-Bangladesh, which led to violence and killed three.

In its report, the Dhaka Tribune stated that the police identified Hossain after analyzing CCTV footage from Durga Puja venues. There hasn’t been an arrest yet.

As per the CCTV footage, Hossain goes towards the Durga Puja pandal holding the Quran. Lord Hanuman’s club was later seen walking away with him. Ahmed said; that more details about Hossain will be disclosed at a police briefing on Thursday.

Bangladesh has seen an increase in attacks on Hindu temples since last Wednesday after a social media post appeared showing the Quran kept in a Durga Puja pandal. 66 houses were damaged; and at least 20 Hindu homes were set ablaze late on Sunday night.

Police reported that there have been over 450 arrests in different parts of the country for suspected temple attacks. The Comilla incident led to the arrests of 41 people, including four of Hossain’s friends.

It has been ordered by Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, that those who incite violence with religion will face immediate action.

People are also urged not to believe anything; they find on social media without fact-checking it. 169 million people live in Bangladesh, and 10 percent of them are Hindus.
